Lake Elmo international intern wins scholarship
Congrats to our international teaching intern Leo Torres Morales who won the Emily Stowell Scholarship Award! Morales works for The Amigos Unidos Spanish Immersion Program at Lake Elmo Elementary creating school-wide works of art that teach and celebrate his home culture of Colombia.
The $500 award is given to two participants in the Amity Intern Program who have gone above and beyond engaging all students in learning and exploring other cultures. Each year, Amity provides Lake Elmo with a full time teaching assistant whose native language is Spanish.
