ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Feb. 3, 2025 -- For their impact in Stillwater classrooms, Stacy Bartlett and Hannah Reyes have been nominated for the 2025 Minnesota Teacher of the Year award.

Bartlett first joined the district in August 2012 as a science teacher at Stillwater Area High School, while Reyes is a current first grade teacher at Lake Elmo Elementary and has been in Stillwater Area Public Schools since August 2018.

Presented by Education Minnesota, the 2025 Minnesota Teacher of the Year will be chosen from a field of 142 candidates. The 2025 honoree is set to become the 61st Minnesota Teacher of the Year in a program that celebrates the tradition of excellence in teaching in Minnesota. Eligible candidates include pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, Early Childhood Family Education and Adult Basic Education teachers, from public or private schools.

The group is being narrowed to semifinalists in the coming weeks, before a group of finalists are announced in March. The Minnesota Teacher of the Year banquet is set for Sunday, May 4 at the Saint Paul RiverCentre.

Education Minnesota, the 84,000-member statewide educators union, organizes and underwrites the Teacher of the Year program. Find more information on Education Minnesota and the Teacher of the Year award at educationminnesota.org.
