New assistant principal named for Brookview and Lake Elmo
STILLWATER, Minn. – June 12, 2024 – Stillwater Area Public Schools announces the hiring of Brett Stringer as an assistant principal, pending school board approval. Stringer will support students, staff and families at Brookview and Lake Elmo elementary schools in this role beginning July 1.
Stringer joins the district after serving as a Data Specialist with Hopkins Public Schools for the last two years. Prior to being a Special Project Lead for Teaching and Learning at Minneapolis Public Schools, Stringer held principal roles at Minneapolis South High School and North Middle School Health Sciences and Technology Campus in Aurora, Colo.
Stringer’s experience as a principal began when he served as an assistant principal and interim principal at Merrill Middle School with Denver Public schools in 2012. Since then, he has added certifications in Urban School Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and completed a National Principals Academy Fellowship through the Relay Graduate School of Education.
A 2001 graduate of the University of Denver, Stringer added a second Bachelor of Arts and Secondary Teaching Licensure from Metropolitan State University Denver in 2005. Continuing his education, Stringer received a Master of Arts and K-12 Principal Licensure from the University of Colorado Denver, before most recently earning a Minnesota Superintendent and Principal License from St. Cloud State University in 2023.
